We are proud to present as our Guest Speaker Marc Goodson
Marc Goodson is our guest speaker this month.
‘The purpose of Government, the purpose of Law’
Marc Goodson graduated from Detroit’s Osborn High School before earning a B.A. in political science from University of Michigan-Dearborn. He continued his education at Walsh College where he earaned a M>S. in finance. Upon graduation he worked as commercial banker. During his tenure as a banker he grew exceedingly wary of the sense of unearned entitlement that guided and motivated so many he encountered. For this reason, he left banking to become a teacher. While earning his certification to teach American government and business, he substituted at local public high schools. He has since determined that the most urgent need for education lay with our population’s adults. It’s the adults who finance, vote for, and tolerate schools that require student attendance but don’t require education. It’s the adults who promote a cultere that allows Americans to vote for a living rather than requiring that Americans ‘earn’ their living. Because of the power of our adult polulation to reporduce itself and vote, Marc determined that the only hope for our peaceful coexistence is to educate for freedom. It’s to this end that he labors.
